Coaching
Coaching and mentoring conversations can take you almost anywhere.... from a moment of profound personal insight to a strategy for change in your business. It all depends which area of your life is in most need of some attention.
I work from the inside out: first of all clarifying what your personal values and beliefs are, and then exploring how to integrate that into all aspects of your life and work. I don't believe that you can, sustainably, maintain different personas in your personal and professional lives, so I offer a 'whole life' approach, and ask you to bring all aspects of yourself to each meeting. I also see that individuals rarely change if the context around them stays the same, and so we often work to influence and shape change in relationships, team dynamics, organisational strategy, culture and processes.
I work from the premise that we can all have a more rewarding life when we have support to keep us on track and challenge to help us grow. I draw on many years of mindfulness and mind-body practices and a range of creative approaches to keep our conversations encouraging, fresh and and rooted in our embodied self. When appropriate I draw on evidence-based frameworks I hold accreditation in such as Belbin Team Roles and the Analytic-Network Coaching framework. I have a deep interest in how the mind works, informed by the findings of neuroscience and psychology alongside the ancient insights of wisdom traditions. I am a great champion for more compassionate and authentic leadership, and for finding ways to transform and the systems and networks we are embedded within. I will be fearlessly honest about reflecting back to you what I see and sense, will challenge stuck thinking or behaviour, and support you on the journey of discovery into who you are and how to do your work more effectively. I will bring deep listening, care and curiosity to our meetings.
My goal is to build a community of leaders who also know when it is the right time to listen or follow. People who act on what is important to them, even when this is a difficult choice, and are constantly self-reflective. Individuals who want to build better networks, partnerships, organisations, teams and families, work towards greater harmony on our planet, and integrate their authentic self into the everyday activities of life.
I receive regular supervision and am accredited at Senior Practitioner level with the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) and am part of the Critical Coaching Group and the Eco-Leadership Institute.
The wonderful and inspirational mentor Jonathan Snell of Embercombe, who was my initial inspiration to become a coach, shared this about me:
'It’s impossible not to be impressed by Kate, she is someone who challenges herself and brings to her life and work integrity, a bright intention and a presence earned through her devotion to her personal work and the gifts and insights she embodies. She is fully identified with her path and continues to focus on her personal transformation. Since we first met in 2010 she has shown continued faith and perseverance, ever moving towards alignment in her life. She has much of value to share with others on their path too as her destiny and intention conjoin to bring her talents into play and offer us the work she came to do.'
